Esther Jones, known by her stage name, “Baby Esther,” was a singer and entertainer of the late 1920s. She performed regularly at The Cotton Club in Harlem. Helen Kane saw her act in 1928 and appropriated Jones’ ‘baby’ singing style for a recording of “I Wanna Be Loved By You.” Jones’ style went on to become the inspiration for the voice of Betty Boop.(What I Looked up)

This is why cultural appropriation is so important

Publicity done right in an anti-rape campaign: double-page spread, pages glued to one another. After the reader forcefully separates them, the image above is revealed with the caption “if you have to use force, it’s rape”.

THIS IS BRILLIANT

Is it something about blacks drinking iced tea that pisses white people off? I don’t understand. Full video herehttp://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3232925/

This video was so disgusting, I hoped it was fake smh.

I guess to white people a black person, walking, breathing, talking, eating or drinking is up to no good.

Where was the “officer’s” back up and regardless of race this is why you don’t hang out in parking lots.

he was security for the liquor store, the same store the arrest man was going into once his friends arrived…
